For those days when you just don't feel like putting on a lot of makeup, it's nice to have a lighter alternative to foundation. Tinted moisturizers can be really nice for those days when you'll just be hanging around the house watching Say Yes to the Dress re-runs (don't act like you've never) or running errands at your local Target.
Although there are some nice tinted moisturizers out there (like Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown's version) but let's face it, they are pretty pricey. It's kind of hard to justify spending $40+ on a product like a tinted moisturizer. I don't know if it's just me, but I would rather buy a nice foundation if I'm going to give up that much money.
Finally, after a short novel, here's my tip: mix your moisturizer with a dollop (yes a dollop aka about half a pump) of your favorite foundation. Viola, your own tinted moisturizer. Yes, it is as simple as it sounds and yes, it works. It may take a time or two to get the proportions right, but once you do the end result will be the same as those $45 tinted moisturizers.
