Katherine and I decided to forgo our normal backdrop and opt for the Walker Sculpture Garden for our photos. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life and had never been to the sculpture garden nor had I ever seen the cherry and the spoon aka "Spoonbridge and Cherry." Now that I've been there AND been super touristy and taken multiple pictures by it, I can call myself a true Minnesotan.
We had a spur of about 4 days where it was unusually cool around here. I'm talking highs in the low 60's when it's usually in the mid 80's. It was kind of nice to be able to open the house up and get some nice, cool (non-recycled) fresh air circulating but I'm really hoping this isn't how the rest of the summer goes. The hot weather can return for a while.
Because of the chill, I tossed on this open-weave sweater that I got from an Old Navy Outlet store for...wait for it...$3.50! Seriously my best purchase in a long time. I feel like it's a good summer sweater since it is so airy but also provides more warmth than a tee shirt. Also, I had to bust my boots out of storage (and they were covered in dust by the way...maybe I should re-think my storage system). I must admit, I have missed those trusty things. So comfy and versatile. That doesn't mean I'm ready for summer to be over...really....the hot weather can come back any time now.
