Another product that I've been reading many rave reviews about (apparently that's all it takes for me to feel like I HAVE to have it or my world is going to end. Yup, I'm a sucker). If you're not familiar with Maybelline's Color Tattoos, they are a cream eye shadow (or eyeshadow base if you prefer) much like MAC's paint pots. Seashore Frosts is one of the limited edition summer 2013 colors and is completely IMPOSSIBLE to find in stores. Seriously, I think I've looked in at least 5 stores and can't find any of the summer colors let alone this particular one. I ended up finding it on Ebay for a semi reasonable price so I decided to find out what all the hype is about.
Seashore Frosts is a duo chrome shadow so it looks blue in the pot but depending on the angle, could look like a bronzy color as well. I get why this particular shade is so popular because it's so unique and there's just not really anything like it out there at the moment. I think it's a really fun color for summer but to be honest, I probably won't be wearing it during the week because I think it's a little much for the office. I'll be sticking to Bad to the Bronze for that.
As with the other Color Tattoos (the non-matte ones anyway) the formula is nice and creamy and really easy to blend. You could use it as an eyeshadow base but honestly I think it would be a shame to put a powder shadow on top of this one because this color on it's own is already awesome. I don't completely understand why people use these as eyeshadow bases. I mean, the colors are great...why would you want to cover them up?? Isn't that what primers are for? If I'm missing something, let me know cause I can't figure it out!
Have you tried the Color Tattoos or been able to find the summer collection in stores?
