How to: Spring Layering Essentials

Even though summer is right around the corner, it has been a bit chilly around here the last few days.  When that happens, layers are essential.  Even though it may be a little brisk, there's no reason your layers can't be spring like!  Choose things in lighter (or brighter) colors to avoid looking like you're stuck in winter (or eagerly awaiting fall).

Now -- on to the important things.  Memorial Day is this weekend.  Anyone else crazy excited?  There are so many things to look forward to: it's the unofficial start of summer and the time of year when every Minnesotan makes the weekend trek "up north" to spend time at the lake.  My family will be going up to our cabin (or lakehouse for all the non-Minnesotans) and I'm SO excited.  My whole family (immediate family with significant others) will be there and I love when we are able to all spend time together.  It will be a weekend of food, golf, pool time, games and maybe even a trip to the local bar (which is always stellar for people watching).  Even though there won't be any lake time since the water is undoubtedly still freezing, it will be a nice little getaway.

What are you doing for the long weekend?  Do you spend time with family and friends or simply enjoy having an extra day off?
